Tidings and the Bear

Post on December 17, 2014 by

“Tis the Season to be jolly” goes one line of a carol. Season’s Greetings is used on cards and written communications. Have you wondered why this one season in particular? Why can’t you be jolly or get greetings during the other seasons? Also when you come to think about it the comments are made around the winter solstice, northern hemisphere that is. That just happens to be the shortest time of the year. It also happens to be when bears are hibernating. We can use bears in this example as the Greek origin of the word Artic means bear and as it happens bears can be found there. Antarctica from it’s Romanized version of the Greek derivative is ‘opposite to the Artic’ – no bears

So here you are in the Season when you, the ones living in the northern hemisphere that is, are supposed to be hibernating. Instead of letting you sleep off your ‘year of toil’ so you can awake afresh to have another go, you are being urged to keep on going. No sooner will the race to get everything done for the end of the year be over when you will be urged to be setting your objectives and getting underway for another ‘year of toil’.

Maybe you should be a little bear-like and review your toils and prepare yourself during this “Season” so that you are ready. Ready to launch your complete focused energies in synch with mother earth when it showers itself with beautiful colour and warmth in the Season called Spring.

Marathon runners cannot run at their peak all the time so if you want to win learn to pace yourself.

May the Season be kind to you.

P.S. If you happen to be in the Southern Hemisphere try looking at the start of your year being mid-September (your Spring time)
